What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy, is a professional and confidential process where you work with a licensed therapist to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It can help you understand patterns in your life, manage challenges like anxiety or depression, improve relationships, and support personal growth. Psychotherapy provides a safe space to gain insight, learn new coping skills, and create meaningful change.

How long are counseling sessions and how often do I have to go?

Each session lasts no more than 50 minutes, giving you dedicated time and space to focus on your healing. Together, you and Dr. C. will decide how often to meet based on what feels most supportive for your journey.

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Yes, we offer telehealth sessions for patients who prefer remote services. Telehealth is available to individuals located anywhere in the state of Texas.

How do I know how much I have to pay for each session?

If you are using insurance, we will verify your copay and inform you of the amount prior to your first session. If you are paying privately, we will provide the session fee in advance, so you know what to expect

How do I know if I need psychotherapy?

You do not have to be in crisis to benefit from psychotherapy. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, sad, or simply not like yourself, therapy can help. It is also a valuable space for personal growth, self-discovery, or working through life transitions and relationship challenges.

If you are asking yourself this question, it's often a sign that something in your life could use support. Psychotherapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space to explore what you are feeling and gain tools to cope, heal, and grow.

When will C3 start offering physical health services?

How does psychotherapy help me with my physical injuries?

Psychotherapy can support your recovery by helping you manage the emotional and psychological impact of your injury. Many people experience stress, anxiety, depression, or even trauma after a physical injury, especially if it affects daily life, work, or identity. Through psychotherapy, you can process these emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and improve your overall well-being. This support can enhance your motivation, resilience, and ability to actively participate in physical rehabilitation, ultimately contributing to a more complete recovery.

What if I don't know what to talk about in session?

That is completely okay and actually very common. You do not need to have anything “prepared” to benefit from psychotherapy. Dr. C. will help guide the conversation and create space for whatever is on your mind, even if it feels unclear at first. Sometimes, simply talking about not knowing what to say can open up important insights. Therapy is a process, and there is no right or wrong way to begin.

Dr. C. is committed to making sure therapy is a valuable use of your time and money, no session is ever wasted. Even moments that feel uncertain can open the door to important self-discovery.

Does Dr. C. prescribe medication?

No, Dr. C. does not prescribe medication. She is a licensed psychotherapist, which means she is licensed to diagnose and treat mental health conditions through psychotherapy, but not to prescribe medications.

If medication seems like it could be helpful, Dr. C. can provide you with referrals to a psychiatrist or a medical provider for further evaluation, while continuing to support you in your treatment.
